The Bible even encourages us to exercise regularly, saying in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

Benefits of Regular Exercise

Regular exercise can lead to a number of physical and mental health benefits. Physically, regular exercise can help reduce the risk of many diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It can also improve energy levels, reduce stress, and help build strength and endurance. Mentally, regular exercise can help improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. There are many different types of exercise that can be done to achieve the physical and mental health benefits listed above. These include aerobic exercise, such as walking, running, cycling, swimming, and dancing; strength training, such as lifting weights or using resistance bands; and stretching, such as yoga and Pilates.

The amount of exercise needed to achieve the physical and mental health benefits listed above varies from person to person. Generally, adults should aim to do at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity each week, as well as two or more days of strength training exercises.
