1 Kings 1:2:1וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּvayomeruand they said
1 Kings 1:2:2ל֣וֹloto him 1 Kings 1:2:3עֲבָדָ֗יוavadaivhis servants 1 Kings 1:2:4יְבַקְשׁ֞וּyevakshulet them seek 1 Kings 1:2:5לַאדֹנִ֤יladonifor my lord 1 Kings 1:2:6הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙hamelekhthe king 1 Kings 1:2:7נַעֲרָ֣הnaaraa young woman 1 Kings 1:2:8בְתוּלָ֔הvetulaa virgin 1 Kings 1:2:9וְעָֽמְדָה֙veamdaand let her stand 1 Kings 1:2:10לִפְנֵ֣יlifnebefore 1 Kings 1:2:11הַמֶּ֔לֶךְhamelekhthe king 1 Kings 1:2:12וּתְהִי־ל֖וֹutehiloand let her be for him 1 Kings 1:2:13סֹכֶ֑נֶתsokhenetan attendant 1 Kings 1:2:14וְשָׁכְבָ֣הveshakhvaand let her lie 1 Kings 1:2:15בְחֵיקֶ֔ךָvekhekekhain your bosom 1 Kings 1:2:16וְחַ֖םvekhamand be warm 1 Kings 1:2:17לַאדֹנִ֥יladonimy lord 1 Kings 1:2:18הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃hamelekhthe king
2. Formal Translation
And his servants said to him, “Let them seek for my lord the king a young virgin and let her stand before the king as an attendant for him, so that she may lie in your bosom and my lord the king may be warm.”
2. Dynamic Translation
So his attendants said to him, “Let us look for an unmarried young woman to serve my lord the king. She can stand before the king as a caregiver and lie in your arms {kheik: bosom, seat of intimacy} so that my lord the king will stay warm.”
