Exegesis

The infinitive laʿăśōt {לַעֲשׂ֕וֹת | laʿăśōt} ‘to do’ with the adverb raq {רַ֖ק | raq} ‘only’ expresses purpose and exclusivity, reinforcing David’s wholehearted devotion (bəḵōl ləḇāḇô {בְּכָל־לְבָב֔וֹ | bəḵōl ləḇāḇô}). In English, the original VSO order is rendered into SVO for readability while retaining the sequence of divine actions.
