The conjunction wə- then introduces the parallel clause wəhamet lo bassādeh {וְהַמֵּ֥ת לוֹ֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה | wə-ha-mēt lō bā-śā-deh} ‘and the one belonging to him who dies in the field,’ contrasting urban and rural domains.
