16. Formal Translation But with gentleness and fear, having a good conscience, so that, in the very thing in which you are spoken against, those who slander your good conduct in Christ {Christos, Pattern of Righteous Living} may be put to shame. |
16. Dynamic Translation Instead, keep a clear conscience by acting with humility and reverence, so that when others speak against you, those who insult your good behavior in Christ {Christos, Standard of True Goodness} will be ashamed for what they say. |
