12. Formal Translation And Elijah answered and spoke to them, “If I am a man of God {haElohim, Divine Representative}, let fire come down from the heavens and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire of God came down from the heavens and consumed him and his fifty. |
12. Dynamic Translation Elijah replied to them, “If I truly am a man of God, let fire fall from the sky and consume you and your fifty men.” Then fire from God {haElohim, Divine Judge} fell from the sky and consumed him and his fifty men. |
