18. Formal Translation And Jehoash, king of Judah, took all the sacred gifts which Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers and the kings of Judah had dedicated, with his own offerings and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD {Yahweh, Sanctuary Sovereign} and the house of the king, and he sent them to Hazael, king of Aram. Then Hazael withdrew from Jerusalem. |
18. Dynamic Translation Jehoash, king of Judah, gathered up all the holy objects that his predecessors—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah—had consecrated, along with his own dedicated gifts and every piece of gold stored in the treasuries of the LORD’s {Yahweh, Divine Dwelling} house and the royal palace. He dispatched these treasures to Hazael, king of Aram, who then withdrew from Jerusalem. |
