Formal Translation But the sons of the killers he did not put to death, as written in the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Lawgiver} commanded, saying, “Fathers shall not be put to death for sons, and sons shall not be put to death for fathers; but a man, for his own sin, shall die; he shall be put to death.” |

Dynamic Translation Yet he did not execute the children of the killers, just as it is recorded in the lawbook of Moses, which the LORD {Yahweh, Impartial Judge} commanded: “Fathers must not be put to death because of children, and children must not be put to death because of fathers; instead, a person dies for his own sin.” |
