A series of spatial phrases—bābbāmōṯ {בַּבָּמוֹת֙ | bäbbāmōṯ} ‘at the high places’, bǝʿārê Yəhûḏā {בְּעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה | bǝʿārê Yəhûḏā} ‘in the cities of Judah’, and ūməssibbê Yǝrūšālayīm {וּמְסִבֵּ֖י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם | ūməssibbê Yǝrūšālayīm} ‘and around Jerusalem’—cumulatively define the geographic radius of cultic practice.
