2 Kings 3:27:1וַיִּקַּח֩vayikkakhand he took

27. Formal Translation
Then he took his firstborn son, who was to reign in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering on the wall. And there was great wrath against Israel, and they withdrew from him and returned to their land.
27. Dynamic Translation
So he took his eldest son, the one meant to succeed him as king, and sacrificed him as a burnt offering on top of the city wall. Then great fury came against Israel, and they pulled back and went home.
