7. Formal Translation When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his garments and said, “Am I God, to put to death and to bring to life? For this one sends word to me to recover a man from his leprosy. Please consider and see how he seeks a pretext against me.” |
7. Dynamic Translation As soon as the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and exclaimed, “Am I God, able to kill and give life? Why is he sending someone to me to heal a man of his leprosy? Notice and understand that he is looking for a quarrel with me!” |
