2. Formal Translation
And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, just as his father showed me kindness.” Then David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants concerning his father, and his servants came to the land of the sons of Ammon.
2. Dynamic Translation
David decided, “I want to be kind to Hanun, son of Nahash, just like his father was kind to me.” Then he sent his servants to express his sympathy to Hanun regarding his father. When they arrived, they came to the land of the Ammonites.
