5. Formal Translation And they told David, and he sent messengers to meet them because the men were greatly humiliated. Then the king said, “Stay in Jericho until your beard has grown, and then you may return.” |
5. Dynamic Translation When David learned of this, he sent messengers to meet the men, for they were deeply ashamed. The king said, “Remain in Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then come home.” |
