Exegesis

The prepositional phrase meharbat go’el hadam leshachet {מֵהַרְבַּ֞ת גֹּאֵ֤ל הַדָּם לְשַׁחֵ֔ת | mê-har-bat gō-ʾēl ha-ḏām lə-ša-ḥēt} employs the Hifil infinitive construct to express prevention of the avenger’s destructive action.
