   va-YO-mer ha-ME-lekh le-tsa-DOK ha-SHEV et-a-khon ha-e-lo-HIM ha-IR im-em-TSA KHEN be-e-NE Ye-ho-VAH ve-he-shi-VA-ni ve-hir-A-ni o-TO ve-et-na-VE-hu

   and said the king to Zadok return the ark of God the city if I find favor in the eyes of the LORD then he will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place

Exegesis

The conditional clause begins with ʾim {אִם־ | ʾim} ‘if’ plus the first person imperfect ʾemṣāʾ {אֶמְצָ֥א | ʾemṣāʾ} ‘I find’ followed by ḥên {חֵן֙ | ḥên} ‘favor’ in the prepositional phrase bə-ʿêynê {בְּעֵינֵ֣י | bə-ʿêynê} ‘in the eyes of’ YHWH {יְהוָ֔ה | YHWH}.
