| 18. Formal Translation And a ferry went over to bring over the king’s household and to do what was good in his eyes. And Shimei son of Gera fell before the king as he crossed the Jordan. |
| 18. Dynamic Translation They crossed the ford to take the king’s household across and to do whatever pleased him. As the king was about to cross the Jordan, Shimei son of Gera fell down before him. |
