They are to move away from the tree’s shelter

They are to stay close while the tree is cut

Keep it in place until it becomes more useful

Hide it from others and hope the issue disappears

Explain why it should stay because it has always been there

Let it go promptly, rather than defending it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit my sin and my pride, and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from every way I have resisted your rule. Lord Over My Life

Lord, revive your Church. Where we have become proud, overgrown, or fruitless, speak with holy authority and bring us low before you. Give us courage to let go of what you remove, and make us a people who bear good fruit and shelter others rightly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew a Humbled Church

Bring to God any pride, image, habit, or success you keep defending even though he is calling it to come down. Ask him to show you what is hollow, and to give you a willing heart to surrender it.

Exposing What I Protect

Father, I do not want to resist what you are removing. Cut away what is proud, empty, or unfruitful in me, and teach me to welcome your pruning with trust, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prune My Life

Pray by naming one person, leader, or community that needs to be brought low before God. Ask for humility, repentance, and the grace to keep trusting him when what is false is stripped away.

Pray for Those Being Humbled

Thank God for hard words that keep us from deeper ruin, for mercy that exposes what is fragile, and for the good fruit he still wants to preserve. Thank him that even severe correction can serve restoration.
