Keep waiting until you can solve it without anyone else seeing your weakness

Choose the most impressive person, even if their help is not really relevant

Ignore counsel and rely only on your own instincts

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and from trusting my own understanding. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to fill my life with your Spirit and lead me in your truth. Amen.

Receive the One Who Gives True Understanding

Lord, wake your Church from self-reliance. Where we have trusted human cleverness more than your Spirit, humble us. Where we have stopped listening, teach us again. Where we need clear understanding, breathe fresh life into us and make us a people who can discern, speak, and serve with grace, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Awaken Your Church to Depend on Your Spirit

Name the situation that feels unclear. Admit what you do not know. Ask God to show whether he is guiding you through Scripture, prayer, and wise counsel. Then wait quietly and write down one faithful next step.

Praying Through a Confusing Question

Give thanks for the people through whom God has given you understanding. Thank him for a mentor, teacher, friend, or adviser who helped you see more clearly, and for the wisdom that came through them.

Thank God for Wise Counsel

Lord, give clear understanding to someone who is facing a problem they cannot solve. Place wise and humble people around them, and let your Spirit guide them into truth, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wisdom for Someone Who Needs Help

Father, keep me from trusting my own cleverness alone. Teach me to ask for help, to listen well, and to recognize when you are speaking through others, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. And you, Belteshazzar, tell the interpretation, because all the wise men  of my kingdom are not able to make the interpretation known to me; but you are able, because the spirit of the holy gods  is in you.
