Exegesis

The phrase umittal-shemayya lakh metsabbin {וּמִטַּל־שְׁמַיָּא לָךְ מְצַבְּעִין | û-miṭ-ṭal-šə-may-yāʾ lāḵ mə-ṣab-bə-ʿîn} uses a “from X … to you” structure to show continual exposure: “from the dew of heaven… they will drench you,” with metsabbin in the intensive Pael stem indicating thorough, repeated soaking under the open sky.
