Exegesis

The prepositional phrase min-anasha {מִן־אֲנָשָׁא | min-ʾă-nā-šāʾ} “from men” marks separation from human society, while the following coordinated phrase veim-khevat bara {וְעִם־חֵיוַת בָּרָא | wə-ʿim-ḥê-wāṯ bā-rāʾ} “with the beasts of the field” moves the king’s sphere of life into the wild, intensifying the theme of dehumanization.
