Deuteronomy 17:14:1כִּֽי־תָבֹ֣אkitavoWhen you come
Deuteronomy 17:14:2אֶל־הָאָ֗רֶץelhaaretinto the land Deuteronomy 17:14:3אֲשֶׁ֨רasherwhich Deuteronomy 17:14:4יְהוָ֤הyahwehthe LORD Deuteronomy 17:14:5אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙elohekhayour God Deuteronomy 17:14:6נֹתֵ֣ןnotenis giving Deuteronomy 17:14:7לָ֔ךְlakhto you Deuteronomy 17:14:8וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֖הּvirishtahand you possess it Deuteronomy 17:14:9וְיָשַׁ֣בְתָּהveyashavtaand dwell in it Deuteronomy 17:14:10בָּ֑הּbahin it Deuteronomy 17:14:11וְאָמַרְתָּ֗veamartaand you say Deuteronomy 17:14:12אָסִ֤ימָהasimahI will set Deuteronomy 17:14:13עָלַי֙alaiover me Deuteronomy 17:14:14מֶ֔לֶךְmelekha king Deuteronomy 17:14:15כְּכָל־הַגּוֹיִ֖םkekholhagoyimlike all the nations Deuteronomy 17:14:16אֲשֶׁ֥רasherthat Deuteronomy 17:14:17סְבִיבֹתָֽי׃sevivotaiare around me
14. Formal Translation
When you enter the land that the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Covenant Giver} is giving you, and you take possession of it and live in it, and you say, “Let me appoint a king over me like all the nations around me.”
14. Dynamic Translation
When you come into the land the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Promise Keeper} is giving you, and you settle there, and you say, “I want a king to rule over me like the nations around me.”
