Exegesis

Finally, the prepositional clause milifnei ha-kohanim ha-leviyim {מִלִּפְנֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּים | mil-lif-nê hā-kō-hă-nîm ha-lĕ-vî-yîm} ‘from before the priests, the Levites’ specifies the exemplar maintained under priestly oversight.
