Formal Translation If a case is too difficult for you to judge—between blood and blood, between case and case, or between affliction and affliction—matters of dispute within your gates, then you shall arise and go up to the place which the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Supreme Lawgiver} will choose. |
| 8. Dynamic Translation When a case is too hard for you to decide—whether it concerns bloodshed, lawsuits, or injuries—any dispute at your town gates, get up and go to the place that the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Community’s Judge} chooses. |
