12. Formal Translation And in Seir the Horites dwelt formerly, and the descendants of Esau dispossessed and destroyed them and settled in their place, just as Israel did in the land of his inheritance which the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Giver} gave to them. |
12. Dynamic Translation Long ago the Horites lived in Seir, but the descendants of Esau drove them out and wiped them out, taking their place, just as Israel did in the land the LORD {Yahweh, Promise Keeper} gave them. |
