Ecclesiastes 2:11:1וּפָנִ֣יתִֽיufanitiand I turned
Ecclesiastes 2:11:2אֲנִ֗יaniI Ecclesiastes 2:11:3בְּכָל־מַעֲשַׂי֙bekholmaasaiin all my deeds Ecclesiastes 2:11:4שֶֽׁעָשׂ֣וּsheasuthat they did Ecclesiastes 2:11:5יָדַ֔יyadaimy hands Ecclesiastes 2:11:6וּבֶֽעָמָ֖לuveamaland in the toil Ecclesiastes 2:11:7שֶׁעָמַ֣לְתִּיsheamaltithat I toiled Ecclesiastes 2:11:8לַעֲשׂ֑וֹתlaasotto do Ecclesiastes 2:11:9וְהִנֵּ֨הvehinneand behold Ecclesiastes 2:11:10הַכֹּ֥לhakolthe all Ecclesiastes 2:11:11הֶ֙בֶל֙hevelvanity or vapor Ecclesiastes 2:11:12וּרְע֣וּתureutand striving Ecclesiastes 2:11:13ר֔וּחַruakhof wind Ecclesiastes 2:11:14וְאֵ֥יןveenand there is not Ecclesiastes 2:11:15יִתְר֖וֹןyitreonprofit or advantage Ecclesiastes 2:11:16תַּ֥חַתtakhatunder Ecclesiastes 2:11:17הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃hashameshthe sun
11. Formal Translation
Then I reviewed all the works that my hands had done and the labor I had undertaken to perform—and behold, everything was vanity and striving after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.
11. Dynamic Translation
When I looked back on what my hands produced and the effort I poured into it, I found it all to be meaningless, like chasing after the wind; there was no lasting gain under the sun.
