26. Formal Translation For the one who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and heaping up wealth to give to the one who is good before God {Elohim, Righteous Rewarder}. This also is vanity and a striving after the wind. |
26. Dynamic Translation God {Elohim, Dispenser of Blessing} grants wisdom, knowledge, and joy to the person who pleases Him, but He assigns the sinner the burden of gathering and storing up wealth to pass on to those who are good before God. Even this is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. |
