Ecclesiastes 5:14:1וְאָבַ֛דveavadand was lost
Ecclesiastes 5:14:2הָעֹ֥שֶׁרhaosherthe riches Ecclesiastes 5:14:3הַה֖וּאhahuthat Ecclesiastes 5:14:4בְּעִנְיָ֣ןbeinyanin an affair or matter Ecclesiastes 5:14:5רָ֑עrabad or evil Ecclesiastes 5:14:6וְהוֹלִ֣ידveholidand he fathered or begot Ecclesiastes 5:14:7בֵ֔ןvena son Ecclesiastes 5:14:8וְאֵ֥יןveenand there is not Ecclesiastes 5:14:9בְּיָד֖וֹbeyadoin his hand Ecclesiastes 5:14:10מְאֽוּמָה׃meumaanything
14. Formal Translation
Those riches were lost in an evil undertaking, and he fathered a son, yet nothing remained in his hand.
14. Dynamic Translation
But the wealth was swept away in a bad venture, and though he had a son, his hand held nothing.
