19. Formal Translation If it is good upon the king, let a royal decree go out from before him and let it be written among the laws of Persia and Media, so that it cannot be repealed, that Vashti shall not come before King Ahasuerus, and let the king give her royal position to another who is better than she. |
19. Dynamic Translation If the king thinks it is best, let him issue a royal order and have it recorded in the permanent laws of Persia and Media, so it cannot be changed, that Vashti is never again to appear before King Ahasuerus, and the king should give her place as queen to someone else who is more worthy than her. |
