Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Esther 4:14:1 ⧉כִּ֣יkifor Esther 4:14:2 ⧉אִם־הַחֲרֵ֣שׁimhakhareshif keeping-silent Esther 4:14:3 ⧉תַּחֲרִישִׁי֮takharishiyou will keep silent Esther 4:14:4 ⧉בָּעֵ֣תbaetat the time Esther 4:14:5 ⧉הַזֹּאת֒hazotthis Esther 4:14:6 ⧉רֶ֣וַחrevakhrelief Esther 4:14:7 ⧉וְהַצָּלָ֞הvehatsalaand deliverance Esther 4:14:8 ⧉יַעֲמ֤וֹדyaamodwill arise Esther 4:14:9 ⧉לַיְּהוּדִים֙layehudimfor the Jews Esther 4:14:10 ⧉מִמָּק֣וֹםmimakomfrom a place Esther 4:14:11 ⧉אַחֵ֔רakheranother Esther 4:14:12 ⧉וְאַ֥תְּveatbut you Esther 4:14:13 ⧉וּבֵית־אָבִ֖יךְuvetavikhand {the} house of your father Esther 4:14:14 ⧉תֹּאבֵ֑דוּtoveduyou {plural} will perish Esther 4:14:15 ⧉וּמִ֣יumiand who Esther 4:14:16 ⧉יוֹדֵ֔עַyodeaknows Esther 4:14:17 ⧉אִם־לְעֵ֣תimleetif for {a} time Esther 4:14:18 ⧉כָּזֹ֔אתkazotlike this Esther 4:14:19 ⧉הִגַּ֖עַתְּhigaatyou have reached Esther 4:14:20 ⧉לַמַּלְכֽוּת׃lamalkhutto the kingdom |
14. Formal Translation For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for a time like this? |
14. Dynamic Translation If you keep quiet now, help and rescue will come for the Jews from somewhere else, but you and your family will be lost. And who can say if you were made queen for just this moment? |
