Ezekiel 17:15:1וַיִּמְרָד־בּ֗וֹvayimradboand he rebelled against him

15. Formal Translation
But he rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to obtain horses and a great people. Will he succeed? Will the one who does these things escape? Can he break a covenant {berit: binding agreement, often sworn before God} and be delivered?
15. Dynamic Translation
But he turned against him and sent his officials to Egypt for horses and a large army. Can someone who does such things expect to succeed? Can anyone break a covenant and still get away with it?
