The phrase v’et-šabbətōtay ḥillēlû məʼōḏ {וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַי חִלֵּלוּ מְאֹד | wə-ʾeṯ-šab-bə-ṭō-ṯay ḥil-lē-lū mə-ʾōḏ} ‘and they greatly profaned My Sabbaths’ intensifies the offense.
