8. Formal Translation Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God {Elaha Rabba, Supreme Majesty}. It is being built with large stones, and timber is being set in the walls; the work is advancing diligently and is prospering in their hands. |
8. Dynamic Translation Please be informed, O king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the temple of the high God {Elaha Rabba, Exalted Ruler}. They are rebuilding it with huge stones, and wood is being fitted into the walls; the workers are pressing on with care, and the project is succeeding under their direction. |
