A second vayomer {וַיֹּאמֶר | way-yō-mer} introduces the climactic interpretive statement koh yihyeh zarʿekha {כֹּה יִהְיֶה זַרְעֶךָ | kōh yih-yeh zar-ʿe-kā} ‘so will your offspring be’, where the adverb koh links the visible stars to the future multitude of descendants.
