| 9. Formal Translation They came to the place which God {Elohim, Faithful Instructor} had told him about. There Abraham built an altar, arranged the wood, bound Isaac his son, and placed him on the altar above the wood. |
| 9. Dynamic Translation When they arrived at the place God {Elohim, Guiding Presence} had indicated, Abraham built an altar, set the wood in place, tied up his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. |
