17. Formal Translation Therefore, the Lord {Adonai, Disciplining Sovereign} will not rejoice over their young men, and He will have no compassion on their orphans or their widows, for everyone is godless and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this, His anger has not turned away, and His hand is still stretched out. |
17. Dynamic Translation That is why the Lord {Adonai, Righteous Judge} will not take delight in their young men, and He will show no mercy to their orphans or their widows, because everyone is acting godlessly and doing evil, and every mouth is speaking foolishness. Even after all this, His anger has not turned back, and His hand remains raised. |
