Exegesis
The verse opens with the simile ve-khatteʾnim ha-raʿot {וְכַתְּאֵנִים הָרָעוֹת | wə-ḵat-tə-ʾē-nîm hā-rā-ʿōṯ} ‘and like the bad figs’, followed by the relative clause asher lo-teʾakhalna mē-rō {אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תֵאָכַלְנָה מֵרֹעַ | ʾă-šer lōʾ-tē-ʾā-khal-nāh mē-rōʿ} ‘which cannot be eaten from badness’.
