17. Formal Translation
Between the porch and the altar, let the priests, the ministers of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Protector} weep and say, “Spare Your people, O LORD, and do not give Your inheritance to reproach, for a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”
17. Dynamic Translation
Let the priests who serve the LORD {Yahweh, Prayer Receiver} cry out between the porch and the altar, “Have compassion, LORD, on Your people; do not let Your inheritance fall into disgrace, turning it into a mockery among the nations. Why should people around the world say, ‘Where is their God?’”
