8. Formal Translation And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “Therefore now, we have returned to you. Come with us, and you will fight against the sons of Ammon, and you will be for us as head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.” |
8. Dynamic Translation The elders of Gilead told Jephthah, “That is why we have come back to you now—join us, fight the Ammonites, and you will become our leader over everyone living in Gilead.” |
