Exegesis

The temporal phrase bayyom hashvi’i {בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי | bā-y-yôm haš-šĕ-wî-ʿî} ‘on the seventh day’ establishes precise chronology. Some Septuagint manuscripts read “fourth day,” but the Hebrew Masoretic Text reads “seventh day,” and this translation follows that reading.
