A comparative clause ka’asher yinnateq {כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יִנָּתֵ֤ק | ka-ʾa-šer yin-nā-teq} ‘as it snaps’ introduces a vivid simile with petil-hane’oret {פְּתִיל־הַנְּעֹ֙רֶת֙ | pə-ṯîl-han-nə-ʿô-ret} ‘thread of tow’ and the Hifil infinitive bahariho {בַּהֲרִיח֣וֹ | ba-ha-rî-ḥô} ‘when it touches’ plus esh {אֵ֔שׁ | ʾēš} ‘fire’.
