21. Formal Translation Zebah and Zalmunna said, “Arise, you strike us, for as a man is, so is his strength.” And Gideon arose and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and he took the crescent ornaments that were on the necks of their camels. |
21. Dynamic Translation Zebah and Zalmunna said, “Get up and kill us yourself, for a man’s strength matches who he is.” So Gideon stood up and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, then took the crescent ornaments from their camels’ necks {tzavvar: neck, place of bearing}. |
