20. Formal Translation See, O LORD {Yahweh, Witness to Suffering}, for I am in distress; my inward parts are in turmoil; my heart is overturned within me, for I have grievously rebelled. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside the house, it is like death. |
20. Dynamic Translation LORD {Yahweh, Suffering Observer}, look! I am desperate—my whole being churns, and my heart feels flipped within me, because I have been deeply rebellious. In the streets, the sword brings loss; indoors, it feels like death itself. |
