16. Formal Translation You have kept the statutes of Omri and all the deeds of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels; therefore I {Yahweh, Sovereign Judge} will make you a desolation and her inhabitants a hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of my people. |
16. Dynamic Translation You have followed the practices of Omri’s statutes and the deeds of Ahab’s house, walking in their counsel; therefore I {Yahweh, Executor of Vengeance} will make you a desolation and your inhabitants a hissing, and you will bear the shame of my people. |
