3. Formal Translation And they said to me, “The survivors who have been left from the captivity are in the province in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” |
3. Dynamic Translation They told me, “The people who survived the captivity and remain in the province are in severe trouble and disgrace. Jerusalem’s wall is in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire.” |
