| 10. Formal Translation Do not forsake your friend or your father’s friend; and do not go into your brother’s house on the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far. |
| 10. Dynamic Translation Do not abandon your friend or a friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you. It is better to have a neighbor close by than a brother who lives far away. |
