Prenatal Development is the process of growth and development of a baby from conception to birth. It is a miraculous process that is guided by God’s hand. The Bible speaks of the importance of life in the womb and the value of each individual life.
I. The Miracle of Life
A. God’s Design
The Bible speaks of the importance of life in the womb and the value of each individual life. In Psalm 139:13-16, it says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” This passage speaks of the miracle of life and how God is the one who creates and knits us together in the womb.
B. The Value of Life
The Bible also speaks of the value of life in the womb. In Jeremiah 1:5, it says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” This passage speaks of the value of life in the womb and how God has a plan and purpose for each individual life.
II. Stages of Prenatal Development
A. Conception
The first stage of prenatal development is conception. This is when the sperm and egg meet and form a single cell. This cell will then divide and grow into an embryo.
B. Embryonic Stage
The second stage of prenatal development is the embryonic stage. This is when the embryo begins to form and develop. During this stage, the baby’s organs and body systems begin to form.
C. Fetal Stage
The third stage of prenatal development is the fetal stage. This is when the baby begins to grow and develop rapidly. During this stage, the baby’s organs and body systems continue to develop and the baby begins to move and respond to stimuli.
