The Rapture at the Second Coming of Christ is an event that is eagerly anticipated by many Christians. The Bible speaks of this event in several places, including 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, which says, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter.’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
This passage speaks of the power and authority of Jesus at the Second Coming. He will come with an army of angels and will judge the living and the dead. Those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior will be taken up to heaven, while those who have not will be left behind to face the wrath of God.
The Bible also speaks of the events that will take place after the Rapture. In Matthew 24:30-31, it says, “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”
This passage speaks of the gathering of the elect, those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior. They will be taken up to heaven to be with Jesus forever.
