Trusting God

Trusting God is one of the most important aspects of our faith. It is the single most important thing we can do to deepen our relationship with God and to live a life that is pleasing to Him. It is not easy to trust God when life is hard or when things don’t make sense. But when we do trust God, He will provide us with peace, comfort, and strength to get through anything.

I. What is Trusting God?

Trusting God is a way of surrendering our lives to Him and allowing Him to be in control. It means believing in His goodness, His power, and His plan, even when we don’t understand it. It is believing that God is good and that He will always take care of us. As Psalm 91:2 says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

II. How Can We Trust God?

The first step in trusting God is to pray. Talk to God about your fears, worries, and doubts. Ask for His help and for His guidance. Then, read and study the Bible. Allow the words of Scripture to speak to you and give you hope and direction.

The second step is to be obedient to God’s Word. When He speaks to us through His Word, we should obey Him. As James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

The third step is to surrender our plans and our will to God. Ask God to show you His plan and trust that He has something better for you than you could ever imagine. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

III. What Does it Mean to Put Our Trust in God?

Putting our trust in God means relying on Him and believing in His goodness and His power. It means believing that God has a plan for our lives and that He knows what is best for us. It means believing that He will provide for us, protect us, and lead us in the right direction. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

IV. How Does Trusting God Help Us?

Trusting God can help us in many ways. It can give us hope, peace, and strength to get through difficult times. It can help us to stay focused on God’s plans for our lives, instead of our own. It can help us to stay positive, even when things seem hard. As Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

V. What Does the Bible Say About Trusting God?

The Bible is full of verses about trusting God. Here are just a few examples:

Psalm 62:8: “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.”

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Isaiah 26:3: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

These verses remind us that God is always there for us and that we can trust Him to lead us and provide for us.
