5. Formal Translation
Now Adonijah, son of Haggith, was exalting himself, saying, “I will be king.” So he provided himself with a chariot and horsemen, and fifty men running before him.
5. Dynamic Translation
Adonijah, son of Haggith, set himself up, saying, “I will be king.” Then he outfitted himself with a chariot and horsemen, and had fifty runners go ahead of him.
