22. Formal Translation For the king had a Tarshish fleet on the sea with the fleet of Hiram; once every three years the Tarshish fleet would come, bearing gold, silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. |
22. Dynamic Translation The king kept merchant ships on the sea together with Hiram’s ships; about every three years the Tarshish ships came back carrying gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks. |
